Many cast iron fixtures do not survive grandpa's shed without substantial oxidation destroying the finish, especially iron. This listing is a good example of what happens over time. Through the 10 years of restoring antique lights, this is the fourth listed on the store of an exact iron base fixture. The last listing was purchased by Andrew and he left a stellar review. - fairly recent. His fixture was exquisite with restored touch-ups while maintaining a-near-Pompeii-look (the last photograph accompanying this listing). This listing is of a heavy cast iron 3 bust cameo flush mount fixture set in 6 shades of hand painted copper. The original condition was horrible with the base thermally stripped of oxidation and decades of many coats of paint removed. For me, I love the detail of the casting. Removing unsolvable decor is a must.
