Antique Slip Shade Wall Sconce, 1910's Gill Glass Fixture Company 'Du Barry Line', Restored, Patina, Amazing Sunset Glow

This 1910's fixture is a dainty example of beautiful old light fixtures. The people, then, had exquisite taste! There was no such thing as cookie cutter homes or lighting or anything. During the 10 years we have offered antique lights, this is the third time we have found a very rare Gill Glass wall sconce fixture in the Du Barry Line.

This fixture is made by Gill Glass and Fixture Company, Philadelphia Pa., 'Du Barry Line': During the reign of Louis XVI of France when Madame Du Barry was mistress at the Palace of Versailles, the decorative schemes which were carried throughout the country were of a very ornate and elaborate character. The Du Barry line of lighting fixtures offered by Gill has been designed to conform with the decorative motifs of that period.

With a single bulb feature inside specially designed slip shades, this fixture is professionally retouched to its original decor while leaving an aged-patina and some chippiness in place. The slip shades are unique - a textured finish that I have not seen before. It's possibly added, but unsure. A gorgeous sunset glow is captured during video with dimmer switch.

New sockets installed with UL Listed wiring, inspected and tested. The on/off turn switch is also rewired. Mounting hardware included for simple installation. Use standard size bulbs, up to 75w, not included. High-grade clear finish applied to preserve restoration.

Measures 10 inches tall, 6 inches wide and extends 6.5 inches from wall.
